Joey and All, I believe the AMD K6 yield problem is not the real problems behind the AMD loss. K6 is only part of the big problem.

Very likely, AMD is using the productiom problem as an excuse to avoid other embarrassing problems.

We all know AMD make other chips else than K6. Why should K6 be singly blamed for the loss of Q3 ? What happen to business such as flash memory, ?
Is AMD expecting K6 to save all the rest troubled business ? sounds very childish.

What kind production problem AMD is suffering ? What is the margin of the K6 ?
What is the defect ratio of K6 ? Maybe AMD need to sell 8 million K6s to break even because the margin is so low due to defect in the production line. And this goal is never going to happen till the German plant is on line,

I think Jerry needs to be honest with AMD investors and explain the detail of the problems instead of using K6 yield problem as an overall excuse.
