Much of the mess in that area of the world is attributable to two things: oil and Israel. The USA has problems aplenty at home. We need to get out of the fighting-for-oil-and-Israel business.

Neither does us or the world any good. If Israel finally had to stand on its own merits, it would quickly figure out a way to do so. Unfortunately, with the USA's neocon contingent at its back Israel has been acting badly and recklessly for half a decade.

We have been on the brink of some kind of bizarre regional war which no one but the Israeli and US rightwing governments want. They are both defying their bosses, we the people, and doing things that hurt both countries.

It's time to knock it off.

I'm sick to death of this fighting. It's a stupid waste of time, lives and resources when there are problems to be solved and opportunities to be addressed.
