We certainly haven't produced any new complex things in thousands of years of selective breeding.

In the few animals that have been subject to selective breeding the complex changes have been amazing. Chihuahuas vs Great Dane? Horses, cats, goats, and chickens? How long do you think sheep would last without human caretakers? The domesticated varieties of plants are even more amazing. All this in a few thousand years, it's truly amazing.
