Predictions For The American Idol Top Twelve

By Joe Reality on American Idol

Now that we've had a chance to hear all of the top twenty-four sing, we feel comfortable making some new predictions for the American Idol top twelve. Of the top twenty-four singers, there are a couple no-brainers to make the top twelve. Barring a complete meltdown, Lakisha Jones, Melinda Doolittle, and Blake Lewis have earned their spots in the top twelve based on their first performances alone.

Because the top twelve boys seem to be very weak, Chris Sligh, Brandon Rogers, and Phil Stacey should also walk into the top twelve without even breaking a sweat. The other two boys that will round our the top six boys is a little more difficult to call. Based on talent alone, we would be tempted to go with Jared Cotter and Chris Richardson, but as everyone knows, the American Idol voting isn't just about talent. We predict that Chris Richardson will make the top twelve, and Sundance Head will sneak in to join him. Even though Sundance has had a couple off performances, he has a large fan following and will likely benefit from a large Texas voting base.

The remainder of the top twelve girls to make the top six is very difficult to call. Gina Glocksen is a pretty good bet, because not only is she really good, but she has built up fans over two seasons. Sabrina Sloan, Stephanie Edwards, and Jordin Sparks should all make it based on their first performance, but it won't be long before the judges start comparing them to Lakisha Jones and Melinda Doolittle who seem to be in another league from almost everyone else in the competition.

We predict that Georgia's Stephanie Edwards will benefit from the Southern vote, and seventeen year old Jordin Sparks will benefit from the youth vote. Both should make it into the top twelve. Instead of Sabrina Sloan, we predict that Haley Scarnato will benefit from a large Texas voting base and will round out the top six girls.
