The principle benefit of alkaline water has been consistently shown to be its potassium and magnesium content, which benefits the heart. It is an established fact that there are fewer CVD complaints in hard water areas. Pure water is far less beneficial. Magnesium is the world's most widely prescribed heart medicine in Africa where since people cannot afford anything expensive doctors have to come up with something that affords the greatest benefit for the least money. That is the old hard water standby, magnesium. A heart saver for 20 centuries or more. EC<:-}
