<"We lost the [equipment] market," Pe¤a says.>

The more I see of Pe¤a, the more I wonder what planet he's on. I've heard that he was responsible for the new Denver airport, which had huge problems getting up and running. At the Department of Transportation, he prematurely shot off his mouth by calling Valujet "safe" and later had to backpedal with a counterproductive shake-up at the FAA, all of this before the cause of the accident was known. Now, at the Department of Energy, he thinks the semiconductor equipment business is already lost, and seems hell-bent-for-leather to make sure it comes true. Maybe those of us who think we are making money in this business are only imagining it. I sure hope he finds something he's good at before he destroys this country.
