I got around to watching that video--and I have to say those are fairly significant gaffes. However, if those are all of them, all compressed into one short clip, then it is a little unfair. Well, fair is fair--I think I mean to say that it really isn't as bad as some others we have seen.
You can see how they want to please everybody and so they slip up like that.
It isn't a bad idea to always 'say what you mean and mean what you say'. Easier said than done.
I just want to find a candidate that I can listen to and respect. You shouldn't have to grimace when your President speaks (or your presidential candidates for that matter).
I'm going to be tuning into C-Span a lot in about a year, and the speeches had better be good. And none of that flip floppy garbage!
Also, I want to say that I think it is lousy that gay marriage/civil unions is such a hot button issue. I don't want to hear about that one way or the other. I care about the US Public Debt and the budget, Iraq and foreign policy, and the economy and creating good American jobs, and to some degree healthcare and education. But the rest (abortion and gay marriage) well, I don't even want to hear it debated anymore. Nobody is going to change their mind, so who cares what everybody else thinks, and I can really get a good rant going on that so I will just end it there. |
