I admire Carter for having the guts to publicly stand up and tell it like it is. But, I imagine it is because his political career is over, and at his age feels he has nothing to lose for telling it straight. Like he said "it would be political suicide for any politician to take the position he has". Sad commentary on the state of the U.S. political arena.
