As for cost, a Seybold report stated that the replacement heads cost $600 each for the P5 and there are 3 heads per color. For a 6 color machine, this would equate to $10,800 for a new set of heads and $7,200 for a 4 color job.

I have no idea how hard it is to change the P5 heads but I would imagine that it isn't very hard. I have changed heads before and they simply pop in and out but they are very delicate.

If you are talking about retrofitting the P5 heads with the new NKOT heads, well that is another story unless the new NKOT heads are physically compatible with the old heads. Then all you need to do is swap the firmware to support the higher firing frequency and BAM. You have 570 sq ft / hr. I have a feeling that we will see this from RGFX soon.

If you are talking about putting a Xaar head in place of the NKOT head of the P5k, well that seems basically impossible. RGFX could use P5 technology to design a new machine that uses the Xaar heads but thats about it. Do you have an idea as to how much the Xaar heads cost by chance?
