I see your point. There is a lot that I could say about the taboo of depicting Mohammad in comparison with taboos related to other cultural stuff but, as you know, I don't think comparing cultures or religions accomplishes anything good, when the focus is only on which one should be rejected.

I can remind you that the taboo on depicting Mohammad was initiated because he did not want anyone thinking he was divine or that he should be worshipped. The taboo is to limit people from making statues and pictures that could become objects of worship. You of course are referring to cartoons and art that do something else, and I really don't give a hoot about that phenomenon except that Radical Islamicists and the Extremists from within America love to be tools of each other and this topic makes a great hammer.
