Company Press Release
National Scientific Announces Major Developments
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- National Scientific Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: NSCT) - Company Chairman, Lou Ross reports on significant developments and a major reorganization taking place in the Company.

Hetrojunction Bipolar Transistor Patent Application Filed

A patent application was filed today for a Hetrojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT). The transistor employs a hetrojunction structure to yield low base resistance to reduce noise while increasing speed and frequency of operation. Depending on the application, the device can be up to three (3) times faster than conventional state-of-the-art bipolar transistors, while reducing noise up to two (2) dB less and increasing signal gain up to five (5) times higher. The development of this transistor represents a major advance in semiconductor science and design.

Bipolar transistors are used in the manufacture of digital circuits such as cellular phones, personal computers, and automotive circuitry. The demand for faster, more efficient signal processing has been a driving force behind the enormous prosperity of the world electronics market in the last decade.

This breakthrough design of the HBT will be used to create fast devices with superior performance in high speed digital circuits, high frequency microwave circuits and linear applications. To that end, marketing of the invention to prospective licensees will begin immediately concurrent with the fabrication of wafer prototypes to assist in providing licensees with empirical manufacturing data.

Monolithic Inductor

The design and patent search have been completed to submit a patent application for a radically new design monolithic inductor with performance characteristics almost twenty (20) times higher than currently available in the market. Inductors are used in the broadest range of electronic circuits for telecommunications applications. The NSC developed device is 100% compatible with current IC manufacturing technology and requires no extra steps for inclusion in current manufacturing processes.

The inductor is expected to have a dramatic impact on wireless communications applications in the 1-GHz band, including digital/PCS cellphones and all microwave circuits.

NMOS Logic Device for SRAM applications

The NMOS Logic Device was conceived as a major advance in SRAM technology. This project is progressing quickly through its final design and simulation stage. A patent search is being completed in preparation for a patent application. Marketing of the invention to prospective licensees is planned immediately after the filing is completed.

Sale of Eden Systems Inc. Retail Products Line

Eden Systems Inc. (ESI), wholly owned subsidiary of NSC, has sold its line of ``JR Biodegradable'' cleaning products, including all formulations, trademarks rights, contracts and inventory to FX Environmental Products Corp. of Phoenix, AZ, a privately held manufacturer and international marketer of chemical retail consumer products. Under the agreement, ESI will receive royalties based on the sales of the JR Biodegradable line.

Sale of Eden Systems, Inc. Wastewater Reclamation Technology

Eden Systems Inc. is filing application for a chemistry and process patent on its technology for the reclamation and recycling of industrial effluents. In conjunction with the move, ESI agreed to sell all rights to the technology to Wastewater Reclamation Technology, Inc. (WRT) of Scottsdale, AZ. WRT is a private company focused on the commercial exploitation of the patent-pending processes. ESI will receive perpetual royalties from the worldwide sales of the proprietary chemistry required for the operation of the process which is expected to reach $20 million per year under WRT.

Mr. Ross states: ``These events taking place in the Company are the culmination of major development efforts and investments that we have made concurrently on several fronts since the inception of the Company last year. Our brilliant R&D staff and consultants have moved our technologies forward to create unique and valuable assets.''

``In keeping with our strategic plan, we have transferred manufacturing and distribution rights of our water reclamation technology to an operating company whose commitment to exploiting the technology will return a perpetual royalty stream to the Company. The same licensing process is being applied to our other intellectual properties such as the semiconductor products. This sound approach will allow National Scientific to seek, acquire, and develop promising technologies to the commercial stage and benefit from royalties, without a large infrastructure or the enormous overhead associated with this type of development.''

National Scientific Corporation is engaged in the research and development of manufacturing processes and commercial products that utilize unique patented and/or proprietary technologies. The Company's stock trades under the symbol ``NSCT'' on the OTC Bulletin Board.
