slacker, I think he has a point but I'm not sure it's Nokias fault. I went for a new contract with Cingular a while ago and their inventory of Nokia phones is pathetic. I wanted a N9300 and my wife wanted a newer version of her N6800 (a wonderful design btw) e.g. the 6820. Of course they didn't have a real 9300 with wifi but a 9300i or something, without wifi. And no successor to the 6800 with "fold open full keyboard" even though I found some obscure GSM carrier in Ohio? offering some. So we ended up getting some freebie Nokias as back-ups, I took the new SIM cards, in the store, and put them back in our old phones. The guy in the store laughed and said it won't work but it did -since I had unlocked the phones earlier that week...
We were ready to spend some real money on phones but Cingular couldn't care less...
I hope, now that unlocking is legal in the US, we get a better market outside the carriers. I'll buy 'em on Ebay, if I have to!
