"Did we miss a fountainhead of knowledge springing from within islam or something? No. Islam was the point of the spear for education, the arts, and development while Christendom was locked in the dark ages. In a weird turn of events Islam threw it self into a dark ages of it's own when the Ottoman Empire collapsed and Tyrannical Oppressive Islamic regimes came into fashion. We're seeing an Islamic Renaissance in the Arts and Sciences but some people, Islamic Radicals and their tools (Western Extremists), are refusing to accept it ... so far.
