Chas, it is very provokative but true. My whole slant is to understand and befriend moderate Muslim being brainwashed by the leadership. Slowly, we need to build their trust by killing as many of the radicals as we can, to expose their psychotic frenzy. Once we build the confidence of the moderates, capitalism and democracy will be welcome in the ME. Look at the economic growth in the Kurdish portions of Iraq like Kirkut. They are building shopping malls with gilled goat meat kabob stands. They even have McDonalds.
Overall, the entire civilization of Islam needs a reformation of acceptance. We need to stop being apolosists and adopt a warlike strategy, against the jihadis that are killing the innocent Muslims. The Sunni Shiite rivalry may never go away, but we shouldn't confuse that with war. They love to kill each other, which is a specific Islamic problem.
I think the writer is so super bent on racism against Islam that he cannot percieve the suffering of average Muslims. We need to spend every part of our international energy bringing these people out of the Dark Ages of Islam to accept belief without violence against non believers. Fundamentalism, moderatism, capitalism, democracy, respect and faith based on free will. Those are the values that we need to be working on through political and religious channels at the White House and the Vatican.
The Muslims need to accept the message of peace and hope for interfaith respect delivered by Pope Benedict, so that they may respect Christians and Jews. Frankly, I have no fear of Muslims, and I am sure they are more afraid of Christians and Jews. Look at the military success of Israel. The Muslims are much more frightened of the superior military strength of the Zionists.
We have great political alliances with the leaders of all ME Islamic governments except for Iran and Syria. Let's try to keep it that way so we can protect Islam governments from being converted to fundamental regimes like Iran. Lebanon would be a great example of a country that needs our help right now, along with Afghanistan and Iraq. We need to kill the bad guys, which are no different than the bad guys in this country. We do need to go after the leadership, since we would never permit organized government resistance in this country. WE need to eliminate all of the jihadi madrasses and put an end to Salafi schools that inspire suicide bombers. |
