If everything could remain the same, just rolling over debt might work.

But things will get out of control as the boomers move thru retirement. Gore was right when he talked about the 'lock box' of setting surpluses aside to prepare for the financial train wreck that is coming.

But that didn't happen. Now the economy is starting to close the gap on the deficit, but this only represents a reprieve. Do you not see that something will have to give? It's either higher taxes, lower retirement benefits for the boomers, some combination of the two, or deficit spending that will leave future generations strugglng to just service the debt.

My chief complaint about the Bush admin. and the dittoheads that support them is simply that they are just not smart. They aren't realistic about human nature and the world we live in and they utterly lack the kind of imagination and vision necessary to avoid problems.

And they aren't even good leaders. Leaders set a course and make adjustments when unfolding events prove them wrong. The Bushies and their followers just keep making mistakes and trying to blame them on someone else....Clinton, the MSM, their political opponents, the milkman, the dogcatcher, whoever is handy.

Or, like you, they try to convince us that what we see with our own eyes really isn't there......the war REALLY is a success....the WMDs are REALLY there.....It's just amazing to watch the degree of self-deception that goes on.
