I think the possibility of Bill taking her Senate seat should play no part in whether she is a suitable nominee or not. That decision is purely the Governor's decision and speculation should not be a factor, IMO. Regarding the process of choosing the nominee's running mate is a prerogative of the nominee-designate and he or she should have the right to follow their own process.
