It's still not going to "destroy America". I am awake- but you are stuck in some bizarre nightmare. Even if some terrorists (and let's face it, Muslims aren't the only terrorists) use a nuke- EVEN if they take out NY, the country goes on. It would take a rain of nukes to even come close to destroying America- the old USSR could have done it; China can do it (and China is a much more dangerous threat, imo, than any bunch of terrorists); India could do it too, but a bunch of hopped up Muslim fanatics without a good infrastructure? Not going to happen. Even if Iran wanted to destroy us (and it's made "We want to destroy you" noises, from time to time) it hasn't happened, and it won't happen.

America was NEVER protected by it's oceans. I was never silly enough to think that. I remember the various riots we've had- and various and sundry acts of domestic terrorism. Anyone who ever thought we were protected by oceans was a ninny, imo. But we probably have more to fear from fear itself, and from home grown whackos and murderers, than we do from foreign fanatics- at least to judge by our murder rates. You think foreign terrorists will ever begin to approach killing US citizens at a rate similar to the rate at which we kill each other? I seriously doubt it.

While many of your arguments are plausible, this one just doesn't work.
