I’m puzzled by your comment, John. If you deviate from your route you should hear the word; “recalculating” sometimes delivered in a rather annoyed tone depending on the voice you choose. After a short delay, modified audio turn by turn instructions should resume without any input on your part. BTW, we live in Coastal California where Spanish names abound (see my board name) and find the male British voice the most easily understood. If you haven’t used it as such, the Nuvi is a very acceptable MP3 player; with a 2GB memory card and Bose headphones I get a great deal of use from it even when not driving. Another little discussed feature is the “screenshot” wherein you are able to capture an image of your screen while driving/walking or whatever and then transfer it to your computer to use like any other image file. It comes in handy for giving graphic directions via e-mail or simply capturing an image of a location you wish to remember. Good news that you solved your mounting problem. pete
