I am a big fan of Surowiecki, and I am very pleased that he is a regular contributor to The New Yorker. "The Wisdom of Crowds" is an excellent book.

You are probably too young to remember what a big deal it was 35 or 40 years ago when Charles MacKay's "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds" came back into print.
