Regardless of what Clinton did or did not do, going forward it appears that the dems will incorporate diplomacy and efforts to cut off the funding of terrorism. This makes sense to me.

It is only in your imagination that the Bush administration has NOT done this. Of course, some of their most successful diplomatic and financial initiatives - with proven track records of catching terrorists - have been blown up by the NYT, which thinks it should have the last word on national security, opinions of elected officials be damned. Cf. the SWIFT monitoring program.

There is a little joke running about the right half of the blogosphere this week which is apropos. How do you tell the difference between a liberal and a leftist? it goes. Ans: a liberal hates his country only when a Republican is in office. A leftist hates his country all the time.

As with most successful jokes, there is more than a little truth in it. Think about it.
