The destruction of decency has always been a venue of entertainment, from the persecution of holy men to mocking the poor little 'goody two shoes' of the play ground. Bigot humor is entertaining in the same sense as seeing the strong man brought to his knees is a comfort to the weakling. It is humorous in the same sense that danger is averted when an effective force slips on a banana peel. Moderate and gracious people may be driven to excessive behavior even psychosis when challenges appear unreasonably overwhelming, but justify it in the spirit of amiable banter. Indefensible corruption is the arch enemy of human principle and disrespectful of reason. That's why it's easier to say, you're just joking...
