The paparazzi look pretty bad when you see what they do to celebrities. I think its a pretty shameful career. Then again, they seem to mainly pursue untalented celebrities - Britney and Paris types, who wouldn't be much without them and their celebrity magazine ilk. We don't hear about Meryl Streep having lots of problems with the paparazzis.

That's the thing...Meryl Streep lives in NYC and she's not a young hottie. Spears, Lohan and Hilton thought it was cool to have the paparazzi chasing them around town but now at least Spears is seeing its dark underbelly. In addition, Hilton and Lohan grew up in LA and NYC respectively. They are little more equipped to deal with the paparazzi than country girl Spears.

What's utterly amazing to me is that all those people connected to that part of the industry are so consumed with their need to spread celebrity gossip that they don't have the decency to back off a person who is having a serious meltdown. There is not one ounce of compassion in that entire industry.
