Automobile profits are hidden in options/ The components that car manufacturers added or Loaded on the car, before they send them to dealer lots. fully loaded bar none cars are the reasons people buy them. they sell like hot cakes when hot. This is where fifth gear and turbo chargers can really score. Currency exchange is a daily occurrence, and is immaterial because manufacturers do not do accounting except at the end of the month or quarter. The last day of the month currency exchange can be controlled by a basket of contracts(Feds' proxy). But that type of intervention by Bank of Japan is often short lived. The real control is done by overbought and oversold of currency contracts in the trading pits, but watch out for derivatives. So usually, in June, car manufacturers loaded their cars and get huge discounts to sell overproduction until October first. This year will be no different. We can push 16 million cars and trucks for this model year to 16.5 million cars and trucks sold easily. Next year we need ornaments, the year after we need trim to sell cars. Options available on cars is the biggest invention in the automobile world.
