I suggest you gentlemen acquaint yourselves with the nuances of Latin American and Ecuadorian politics.

Correa -- let me remind you he is a United Statian trained economist -- is very clever at varying his message according to the audience he is addressing, as is necessary for any politician but vital in Ecuador given the ethnic and economic divisions in that country.

When talking to a crowd of relatively uneducated rural indigenous leaders, he is going to give them the message they want to hear.

Then look at the editorial slant of the publication you link, and think about which version of his message they are going to publish.

I'm not saying there isn't sa threat of nationalization in Ecuador, but it is much less than many think, and certainly not to be compared with what is going on in Bolivia, where the poverty is much more pronounced and the proportion of rural uneducated among the population much higher.

Note: I am not posting this a la Stockhouse as some sort of pump or bash , but to put forward into the debate some fruits of my decades long observation and study of Latin American politics.
