[/sarcasm] Nektar Therapeutics Awards Chmn $317,000 Special Bonus >NKTR DOW JONES NEWSWIRES February 26, 2007 7:27 a.m. Nektar Therapeutics (NKTR) on Monday said Chairman Robert B. Chess has been awarded a $317,000 special bonus by independent members of its board for prior service as the company's acting president and chief executive. The San Carlos, Calif., developer of drug delivery systems said Chess provided "outstanding leadership" for Nektar Therapeutics in 2006, among other things, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing. On Jan. 24, Nektar Therapeutics disclosed in an SEC filing that Chess received a bonus totaling $235,200 for the second half of 2006. The company's shares closed Friday at $12.91 each, down 4 cents
