I came over the hill into my neighborhood at what I thought was a cautious speed. For a time I thought that the path of the truck in my neighbor's yard was a predictor of mine. I slowed down incrementally, and almost made it around the curve. The neighbor downhill from the one whose yard was adorned with a pickup became the host to my mishap. Fortunately, the doctor is growing wildflowers in his ditch. I rolled between his electric transformer and cable box right back onto the road. His wife was very understanding on the phone, and I will see how deep the ruts are and what it will take to make him whole.

I must say the view was better from the road.
