Jonathan - Re: " I hope AMD management is not that incompetent or desperate. " Better check AMD's spec sheets. The K6 at 166/200 MHz is specified to operate at 2.9 volts - probably the "target" Vcc for this process. However, because of process marginality, the K6 at 233 MHz must be run at 3.2 volts! No joke - right out of the K6 manual. Call Jerry Sanders and he'll confirm it. I'm sure he will also tell you they never have gate oxide failures. Paul
