Has anyone else noticed a change in software behavior in putting in a sell order when you have no position (a short sell)?

Up until a few days ago, if a stock was not available to short a pop-up window would immediately appear to tell you so.

Now the order just kind of hangs there with no word on its status, other than that it was submitted.

Is there a secret code there that I'm not picking up?
