What makes you think that today would be that day, as opposed to any other day? I would have to go check the research, but I am pretty sure market volatility exhibits strong persistence over relatively short periods. This would imply we are much more likely to get another +/- 200pts in the DOW between now and the end of the day relative to some random future trading day. GS
