But you are wrong in your conclusion. I have heard many people right here in the good ole' USofA say that Christians believe that all they have to do is Recite John 3:16 then all things are permissable. You've never heard anyone say that?

Well now you're just showing ignorance of Christianity. I've *NEVER* heard this in my over-40 years of being a Christian. I believe that what you (or whoever you heard it from) might have misunderstood was that in becoming a Christian, all "PAST things can be FORGIVEN"...not "future acts are PERMISSABLE". And this doesn't happen through blind recitation of a passage of the Bible. Anyway, there's a huge difference there between the two.

You're also wrong here:

I doubt I would be able to convince you that the vast majority of Muslims and the general view of Mainstream spokespersons condemn such things.

Well...not wrong in the sense that you wouldn't be able to convince me...but wrong in that you wouldn't need to convince me. I'm quite sure that the majority (not quite sure what you consider "vast") condemn these acts of violence. But "condemning" these acts of violence isn't that same as taking an active role in "preventing" these same acts when they see them being discussed, planned, perpetrated, or glorified.

as for:

Personally, I don't believe religions I am aware of do any thing bad. People do bad things and people use religions to do bad things. You don't have to agree.

I know I don't have to agree, but generally I do agree with that. Would you agree that in some cultures, it's more likely that "bad acts" would be carried-out in the name of religion than in other cultures? (trying not to judge here...just asking your personal opinion on this)
