Daikin Announces Joint Partnership With Digital Vision to Distribute DVD Authoring System

NOVATO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 1997--Daikin U.S. Comtec Laboratories, the developer of the first commercially available DVD authoring and premastering software announced today that Digital Vision will be a world-wide authorized distributor of the Scenarist product line.

The partnership with Digital Vision represents the beginning of Daikin's new open systems product and distribution strategy designed to bring the best available DVD solutions directly to the customer.

Scenarist will be available as either an integrated component within Digital Vision's BitPack MPEG2 video compression workstation, the complete solution for DVD and video server premastering, or as a stand alone software package. The Daikin and Digital Vision partnership combines Scenarist, the de facto industry standard in DVD authoring, with Digital Vision's industry leading MPEG-based encoding technology.
