Maybe, maybe not. I've noticed the pattern to lefty logic that says "if only America hadn't interfered, everything would have continued just as it was, so much better."

This is complete BS, as things always change, and current situations can never be simply extrapolated into the future.

It's only by an odd contortion of logic that you reckon that if the Soviet Union had been able to finance its proxy, North Vietnam, and spread communism to the South unopposed, or opposed only by an unsupported South Vietnamese government which would have been soon vanquished, then it would have been so much LESS likely that communist regimes would have taken power in the neighboring countries.

Communism wasn't the ideology we we pushing, if you recall. It was the ideology the Soviet Union was pushing.

This is another example of the "only America makes decisions, only America is responsible" logic that I keep complaining about.

It's infantile.
