Thanks for your (partial) response. I believe we both probably understand the other's perspective a little better now.

The issue I was trying to bring to light for you, is that much of the information I see presented on forums like this has been gathered by and presented anti-Muslims and from an anti-Muslim perspective.

Yes...I pretty much expected this from a thread who's title was (until recently) something like "Islam is a Death Cult". ;-)

Throughout this strand of discussion I have attempted to persuade you to look at this as you would look issue as you would skeptically look at any issue presented by anti-Christians. The single question I have had for myself is whether any persons on this thread are able to do that. If not what is the barrier? If you say its Muslims who commit heinous acts in the name of Islam, then I figure someone is chasing their tail and I'm not sure which one of us it is.

I believe this can be done (looking at what is posted here with skepticism), and still find value in seeing the threat of radical Islam to the world through news stories and commentary found in this forum.

Also, I think you can tell by my conversation with you that I don't fall in to the pit of "Nuke All the Goat-****ers!".
Admittedly, a lot of the conversation here is extreme in that way, and I think I'm smart enough to recognize propaganda when I see it, and am able to filter a lot of that.

Now you may call it "chasing our tail", but I think if 1% to 10% of all Christians were committing or supporting heinous acts in the name of their religion, there would be a "The Truth about Christianity" thread. Wouldn't you agreed?

(and btw, you never answered my earlier question: "Would you agree that in some cultures, it's more likely that "bad acts" would be carried-out in the name of religion than in other cultures?")

Thanks.
