Nothing resolves the issues, and at this point it is difficult to know how many of the issues the US is making worse just by its presence - and those issues are regional, not just in Iraq. I don't think anyone can really do the calculus on this mess- but you can know which move would be cheaper, right now, and that would be getting out. It's possible it might not be cheaper later, but then again, it might be- that just isn't something anyone on this planet, absent a crystal ball (or a set of 'em) is going to be able to know. I think you give Bush some surge time, and then if things don't improve, a lot, we declare victory and leave.
