As I see it, it's these kinds of things that make non-Muslim's very concerned:

news.yahoo.com

War-weary Afghans fear new offensive

from the story:

"We reacted in a very short span of time to attack the base," Taliban commander Mullah Hayatullah Khan told Reuters by satellite phone from a secret location on Wednesday.

"They would have launched a major guerrilla attack on the base as the Taliban are prepared for any sacrifice to kill such an important person and a big infidel."

The fact that the Taliban attacked the base in itself isn't what ties these kinds of things to Islam. In fact, I could understand it if he would have left it at "important person", but it's the mention of "infidel" that makes the Islam link in peoples mind.

"Mullah Hayatullah Khan" a "Taliban commander" (the person quoted above) is in charge of how many people? Has any American General recently threatened a person because they are such a big "non-Christian or non-Jew"?

If you don't want to smell like $#!T, don't step in the POO! Sheesh!
