So what are the " obvious implications" of us wisely getting out of Iraq (which we so very unwisely got into) besides that many Americans would stop dieing and getting badly wounded?

Al Qaeda's strategy for fighting the US is to mostly avoid pitched battles, where they lose, but constantly harry the troops with IEDs and suicide bombers to create constant casualties and pictures of bombs going BOOM. Also, since the West only blames America for casualties, not Al Qaeda (and what a wonderful gift that is), AQ's strategy is to blow up as many civilians as poosible to create chaos and blood for which the US will be blamed, and hopefully to foment a civil war - for which the US will also be blamed.

The OBVIOUS implication of any hasty withdrawal from Iraq is to validate this strategy as a GREAT IDEA to be used everywhere else US troops come anywhere near Muslim territory. If a hasty withdrawal leaves Iraq a failed state, then the triumph for AQ & other Islamists, who are free to set up an emirate in al Anbar, will be complete.
