It sounds as though Gore is not running in 2008, so any misgivings about his hypocracy over the energy issue will not have an effect on the election. I do have to say that Gore was more of a disappointment on environmental issues during his stint as VP, than anything to look back upon as a bright moment for the environmental movement. Of course, Bush, Jr. has been a total disaster for the environment. The worst! What wouldn't surprise me on the Republican side is if someone like Jeb Bush throws his hat in the ring and steals the show later this year. The Republican side looks pretty weak at the moment. It is ripe for someone to come along and steal the show.
