Jefferson is not charged with anything yet. He has been stripped of all major power, but until authorities actually bring charges he's innocent until proven guilty. I doubt he is, but who knows? One thing is for sure, his constituents voted him back in despite knowing he might be crooked. The Democratic Party fought hard to try and stop him from being re-elected.
