Mr. Normile, I have been a very satisfied trader with Datek for a couple of months now. However, I have yet to attempt to withdraw funds and reading some of the complaints here in the past few weeks has made me very uneasy. Of course, there is really no way of verifying any post on the Internet and people can say whatever they like. Both you and Peter have implied in the past that some posts have not been accurate or have been misleading. Of course, it would be the easiest thing in the world for a fictitious poster who worked for one of your competitors to get on this thread and sling about accusations. But it would also be the easiest thing in the world for you to address them and denounce them if you believed you were being unfairly accused.

I'm NOT implying that any of the posts on this thread have not been anything other than honest representations of real problems as they have experienced them. But I am saying that unless you respond to them, the rest of us lurkers (and your customers) have to believe that these problems are occuring and are serious ones at that.

Obviously you read this thread and choose to respond in some cases. Please be aware that Datek customers who haven't experienced any of these horror stories are indeed listening with concern. Recently, there have been many opinions of Datek's problems/motives, ranging from simple incompetence to fraudulent behavior on your part. Surely you would want to defend any hint of fraud on the part of Datek, if it were not true?

Your silence on this matter will only increase anxiety and surely cause further closed accounts.

Sincerely,
D. Kuspa
