"a thinking enemy"

Not really. If we had gone in with full force and more backing from the international community, we might have killed those suckers before they could start thinking. Remember the museum looting and rummys comments about blowing off steam? Remember the unguarded ammo dumps? Nadine you are way too smart not to have cringed when you saw the first signs of lawlessness with all the weapons of usual destruction out in the open, and ready for the taking. Rummy, Cheney and Bush blew this early on and have been playing catch up all along. At this point we are near where we were in VN and public opinion will not allow this experiment to go on much longer. If we had a draft, the troops would already be home. Those are facts and not statements of preference. I like you wish we could salvage this mess but in democracies every once in awhile you just have to listen to the people. And the people are beginning to speak loudly. As long as bush is pres its a vote of no confidence in this war and the war cant go on as is for two more years without bringing in a left winger as pres and a big dem majority in congress. Is that what you want?
