I think the regional talks might help. At some level i think iran may be scared of what they wish for. Instability in iraq may work for them in some sick way, but all out civil war is not in their interest either, nor syrias for that matter.

They are clearly of a different opinion, mike. One would think they would support a Shiite dominated government, but their hatred of the US is too great.

PS What about the weapons sitting unguarded. What were we thinking?

Which weapons? All of Iraq was an arms dump, there were thousands of caches all through the country. It's clear by now that the Baathists planned ahead.
