The word 'links' can mean pretty much ANYTHING you want it to mean. For EXAMPLE: the United States of America had 'links' to al Qaeda... (Hell, we and the Saudis helped to finance them during the Afghan War, and we provided military training for many of their recruits, some at Fort Benning even... and we've had 'contacts' since.... Arguably the US has had greater 'links' to that particular group then Saddam era Iraq even....) So, until and unless you care to define 'links', then it's mostly just a nebulous, pretty-much meaningless assertion. As far as reading the rest of your post... I DID. But, since you were mixing and matching terrorist groups from all over the place... that too didn't say much of anything about your premise: al Qaeda. (For example: the Palestinian groups are different from 'al Qaeda'... and EVERY SINGLE ARAB NATION has 'links' to them... sometimes STRONG links to them, so that isn't saying anything unique about Saddam era Iraq. Or, Hell, IRAQ TODAY... where these Palestinian groups are as popular as EVER, if not MORE POPULAR.)
