Edwards is smart to do this. He's not out of touch; he's IN touch. I wouldn't be surprised to see more of the other candidates doing the same thing.

Second Life- and I have been a member for a year now as my son works for Electric Sheep which does work for LInden Labs-- is much more than porn sites. (Are there a LOT of them? Definitely. It's a free-wheeling, uncontrolled place similar to the internet) But you can also join book clubs, attend church and Bible studies, play trivia and word games, design your own home, furniture, and clothes, talk to people from all over the world, belong to music, theatre, or philosophy groups. Large corporations are investigating and utilizing the concept for advertising and product placement. It's chaotic, and it's huge, with well over a million members now and growing rapidly. There are many, many choices.

So yes, there is a nasty element to it, as in everything that is unmonitored and unzoned and free. But trying to connect Edwards to it as if he were involved in porn is just silly. It's playing on the ignorance of people who don't know what SL really is.
And what it is is cutting edge tech. Something any candidate ought to consider using.
