You are mistaken. 'Allah' is an Arabic word for God that was in common usage prior to Mohammad. Even the Christians of Arabia called the Father figure in Christianity 'Allah'. The idols and various god figures known in Arabia were all called Allah. So you will see the phrase 'The Most High Allah' in Islamic text. The term became quickly associated with the religion Mohammad was presenting and became co-opted as the God Mohammad was refering too, and up to modern times is distinguished by non-Muslims as something different than Christians and Jews worship. From the Muslim perspective it is the same God Adam, Abraham, Moses etc up to Jesus worshipped.

The argument that Mohammad invented the Islamic religion is different.

I'm not a Muslim spokes person or a religious scholar but that is basic and common knowledge in that part of the world.
