This article was not so funny. BTW I applied to Citi for a home equity line of credit After being inundated with materials about how I was prequalified, promising me a hassle free experience. after receiving several requests at inopportune times for additional information from call centers in developing countries, all from people with names like james and bob, and surnames like smith, I withdrew my application but not before receiving a pamphlet, which indicated that if at some point the perceived equity in my residence were to drop below 50% of my loan balance Citi could can freeze my line and demand payment. I wonder how many people read the fine print on these applications and loan documents. BTW the print is awfully fine. The first letter I received from Citi telling me I was prequalified had fine print in such small and weak letters I never noticed it. It was on the bottom of the page and said: " See reverse for important information" and on the back was a list of all sorts of conditions and stipulations.
So I am not surprised that Citi was willing to foreclose on a loan made to developmentally disabled people.
