Before 400 years ago, the Muslim lands come ahead. From 400 years ago until the 20th century, Europe comes way ahead. During the Holocaust, anybody else but Europe comes ahead.

It seems to me that Jews haven't been doing at all well in Muslim lands since WWI, the end of the Ottoman empire.

The Ottomans were much more civilized than their bloody-minded and primitive successors in pretty much every way.

I am aware that this is damning with faint praise.
