eng - thanks for that. Seems like every month there is a new and more advanced technology that threatens the Q. The tone of the aricle was in my view a bit amatuerish.

After listening to PJs London presentation I got the impression that we could look forward to a a stream of materially increasing speeds from the Q. Further if that is the case and WSPs around the World have an installed base of cdma/wcdma infrastructure then the costs and other difficulties of creating an entirely new infrasructure for a new standard would be simply uneconomic.

WiMax however makes one think about that. Here we have the requirement of an entirely new overlay, new handsets, new standards etc and yet Sprint with all it's problems and an existing cdma network proposes to go ahead. They must have some really compelling arguments to put the business through that kind of disruption and diversion of product.

Is it capacity? do they imagine they can compete against Road Runner or other cable providers?

I assume that it is not just a question of speed.

Wehave heard a good deal about the difficulties fo the WSPs and how the analysts are watching their business cases very carefully, and after a time competition resolves into price competition. That time has surely arrived and yet with all that finaical pressure on them WSP's consider an entirely new network??????

Just some thoughts.

Best,

L
