It's possible if not likely that McCain hired the hatchet-men who did him in back in 2000 to go after Giuliani the same way. That would be the final nail in the coffin of the ex-maverick-become-Bush-clone. He has a shot if Karl Rove is his chief strategist. He brings with him all the money that went to Bush plus 30% of the pro-war crowd, 10-15% of those that goes into the booth and flips a coin, and the dirty tricks can again decide the next election.
