True. But that doesn't mean they can't come back. They have built in disadvantages; one is they have to pay for employee healthcare, unlike their overseas competitors (with universal healthcare).

But I don't want to give up on US innovation just because it's in Michigan and not California. GM is just now slipping to #2 in the world; maybe it will be a wake up call. They are a firm #1 in the fastest growing market: China.
