is it not true, that a couple of Israeli soldiers were kidnapped by some group (give u the benefit of doubt it may have been Hezbollah), and then a war started between Israel and Lebanon, and Israel was not the victor ? Whatever happened to the 2 Israeli soldiers thru this episode ?

Hizbullah attacked an Israeli patrol - 8 dead, 2 kidnapped. No doubt about who; Hizbullah never denied responsibility, said they were helping out their buds in Gaza, who had just kidnapped an Israeli soldier.

Israel attacked in response. Israel got the best of it militarily, though the attack was bungled by the Chief of Staff who thought he could do everything from the air, but Hizbullah was still standing at the end and still had the hostages, so one has to say that Israel lost, as these things are reckoned.
